Drug Free Workplace Policy (DFWP)
Having a customized, professional policy is essential to a well-run drug testing program. The right policy eliminates hassles and protects your company from unproductive and potentially unsafe employees as well as legal disputes.
Employee Education
Employer must provide education materials explaining drug and alcohol regulatory requirements and employer’s policies and procedures for meeting regulation requirements. Distribution to each employee of these educational materials and the employer’s policy regarding the use of drugs and alcohol is mandatory.
Supervisor Training
A one-hour training program is available to train supervisors on specific, contemporaneous physical, behavioral, and performance indicators of probable drug use. A similar one-hour training is available to detect probable alcohol use.
Drug and Alcohol Testing
Types of drug testing: Pre-Employment, Random, Reasonable Suspicion, Post-Accident, Return-to-Duty and Follow-up. Types of alcohol testing: Pre-Employment (optional), Random, Reasonable Suspicion, Post-Accident, Return-to-Duty and Follow-up.
Random Drug and/or Alcohol Testing Rates Recommended Minimum: 50% annually
Safety Level Service: 100% annually
